Our Program

GLAD House Champs (ages 5-12)

In this intensive, Monday – Thursday after-school and summer treatment program, licensed therapist and social workers guide children toward individualized therapeutic goals through individual and group therapy, family therapy, prevention education and academic assistance. Transportation to and from GLAD House is provided along with a healthy snack and dinner.

Upon graduation from the program, children move into the GLAD Hands Club

GLAD Hands Club (ages 5-18)

A long-term follow-up and support program occurring once a week for children who have completed treatment in Champs. This program continues mental health services for children who still need it, reinforces prevention education, offers recreation activities and provides on-going academic assistance and mentoring to ensure high school graduation is reached.

GLAD Hands Club offers members stable, long-term guidance, with separate groups for younger children and teens.

Strengthening Families (ages 5-18)

Strengthening Families is a program within Champs that meets weekly for three months in the fall and spring. It includes separate group sessions for children and parents to work on similar topics and combined sessions for children and their parents to discuss experiences and goals for change. Families voluntarily attend weekly and complete the program despite barriers related to poverty such as lack of transportation because they ultimately find the information and resulting family transformation invaluable.
