Overview

Numerous studies conducted over the past few decades have proven that delaying the age of first use is one crucial element of preventing future substance abuse and addiction. According to a 2018 Prevention First! Greater Cincinnati Student Drug Use survey, the average age of first use of alcohol or other drugs in our community is around 13 years of age. The GLAD House Champs Program is targeted to the crucial age range of 5-12, hoping to intervene before the first use can occur.

We serve children from all neighborhoods in Hamilton County with a comprehensive approach that balances the mental health needs of children with alcohol and drug prevention strategies. And it’s making a difference. See what some of our clients, partners and volunteers have to say!
