Self Esteem

When children feel good about themselves, they are set up for success. In everything from friendships to academic performance, kids that have high self esteem will set off on the right foot as they traverse the obstacles and trials of childhood.

Positive feelings like self-acceptance or self-confidence help kids try new challenges, cope with mistakes, and try again. Taking pride in their abilities and accomplishments helps kids do their best.

The kids at GLAD House have been working to promote their own positive self-esteem development by learning to recognize and replace their negative thoughts about themselves with positive thoughts.

Additionally, the kids have completed posters, poems, and many art projects to help them identify and express their abilities and the positive beliefs they hold about themselves.

These sculptures were created for the Art Show celebration, and represent things that make our kids feel good about themselves!
